Q: My home router is dual-band (2.4GHz + 5GHz). Can I use a WiFi bulb socket that only supports 2.4GHz?
A: Yes, it’s compatible! You just need to manually connect the bulb socket to your router’s 2.4GHz network—be careful not to select the 5GHz band, as the bulb socket won’t support it.
Q: What if my router has “dual-band merge” enabled (same SSID for both bands)?
A: First, disable the “dual-band merge” (or “band steering”) feature in your router’s admin settings. The router will then broadcast two separate networks, each labeled with its frequency (e.g., “HomeWiFi” for 2.4GHz and “HomeWiFi-5G” for 5GHz). Please manually select the 2.4GHz network during setup to ensure a successful connection.
Q: Does this WiFi bulb socket support dimming?
A: No, this WiFi bulb socket does not support dimming functionality. Please note this before use.
The wireless switch (transmitter) can be paired with the lamp holder in two ways: via APP or offline without APP, with simple operations for your convenience:
Pair via APP (2.4G WiFi required): First connect the lamp holder to the eWeLink APP, enter the page of the bound lamp holder device, tap Settings > Remote Control, and follow the on-screen prompts to add the wireless switch (transmitter);Offline pairing (no APP needed): Press the button inside the small hole on the side of the lamp holder twice quickly in a row with a sharp object, then press the button of the wireless switch (transmitter) to be paired. The pairing will be completed immediately.
