How to use the soil moisture sensor ？
Insert the sensor into the soil, aligning the marking line with the soil surface for accurate measurement. Create automation or manually water the plant when soil moisture drops below a set value, based on your plant and soil conditions.
(Alexa) Why does the soil sensor’s ‘humidity’ in Alexa display as temperature (F/C)?
This is because Alexa does not natively support the ‘soil moisture’ sensor type. To make the data recognizable, we report the humidity percentage value through the ‘Temperature’ property, which Alexa does support.
(Alexa) What does the displayed F / C mean?
The F (Fahrenheit) or C (Celsius) displayed on the interface are merely Alexa’s default unit labels for the’ temperature attribute,’ and do not reflect actual temperature readings.
(Alexa) Isn’t this the temperature?
The displayed “F value” = the soil moisture value. The displayed “C value” needs to be converted to “F value”. If the interface displays “68 F”, understand that the soil moisture value is 68 (%), not a temperature of 68 degrees Fahrenheit.
Why are the data from the Soil Temperature and Humidity Sensor different from regular temperature and humidity meter?
This is because the measurement methods are different. The Soil Temperature and Humidity Sensor only detects soil surface temperatures for reference purposes only.
