Yes, this docking station 3 monitors requires downloading and installing a DisplayLink driver before use. Please download the driver compatible with your laptop’s operating system before use

2. Why does this TobenONE USB C dock for MacBook need to record the laptop screen?

For macOS, the DisplayLink technology require screen recording permission to display the screen. But the DisplayLink app doesn’t store/record any screen content. It only uses screen recording functionality to enable seamless extended display support.

3. For macOS, does this docking station 3 display cannot play any streaming platforms(Netflix, Udemy, etc)?

Yes, for macOS, the DisplayLink technology requires screen recording permission to display the screen. Since the screen is recording, you cannot watch any HDCP content(Netflix/Prime/ iTunes/Hulu…), the screen will be black.

4. This TobenONE USB-C docking station has six video ports. So, what is the maximum number of screens it can extend?

For Windows systems, if the laptop’s USB – C port supports video output, this dock can support up to 4 monitors; otherwise, it can support only 2 monitors. For macOS systems, it supports only 3 monitors.

5. My dock stop working, what should I do?

Make sure that the laptop’s USB-C port supports display functionality. Disconnect all cables and then reconnect them. Display 1 and Display 2 are driver-based, so please download the latest drivers. HDMI 3 and DP 3 are plug-and-play.
